Carnbooth House Hotel

When you get booked for a walk around performance you never know quite what to expect. Every venue is different. Every type of event is different. Every table is different. You have to be prepared for anything. Anything can happen.

My performance on Saturday was in the beautiful Carnbooth House Hotel. It was a mixture of people I knew, absolute strangers and a few SPL footballers. The hall decor was classy and the photobooth in the corner looked like it could tell a few stories. In my head I thought it would have been quite a tough crowd but how wrong I was.

This photo perfectly captures some of the madness

EVERY table was an absolute blast. There was magic , laughter, applause, screams, tears, gasps, silence… everything! People were so nice and right up for a laugh and a bit of banter. Sometimes, as a performer, you’re only as good as your audience and they were awesome! (Guess that means that I was awesome?) It was also good to see some old football friends and friends from school.

Near the end of the night I was invited over to the table of Motherwell FC players. Great bunch of lads who were as amazed and shocked as the rest of the tables. After a politely turning down an offer to join them on their post party adventures in town I was getting ready to head back to my friends house who were back in Glasgow for a few days from London. I was still buzzing when I got there.

The feedback I got during and after the event was very positive. I had such a good night I was unaware that I stayed on for almost an hour longer than I should have.

After a good nights work the come-down can be a good few hours…
